David Mulligan
Chief Executive Officer
David initially joined Funding Neuro as a Trustee in 2016 and took over as CEO in 2021. David is a Chartered Accountant who spent most of his career in Corporate Banking in the UK and Europe where he led many corporate social responsibility projects. Having been a trustee before taking up this post he sees the role as an evolution of what has gone before with same focus on patients, getting treatments into use and hopefully making fundraising fun for all those who so generously give up their time.
David is married with 3 grown up children and enjoys music, cycling and film.
Mhairi McManus
Hi i’m Mhairi McManus and I look after social media and community fundraising at Funding Neuro. I studied travel and tourism due to my love of travel and was manager of a travel shop at a young age. I also studied dance at stage school for many years and was lucky enough to dance and model professionally all over the world. I now own a dance school.
I love helping others and being involved in the community. My fun side and commitment is great for fundraising and social media. I love being part of the team. My hobbies are dancing, music and travel.


Sinead Howard
I’m Sinead Howard, I’ve been working as part of the Funding Neuro team for over 4 years. I support our fundraisers, corporate supporters and help plan and run our fundraising events. I am always inspired when I hear what people are doing to raise money and help us get closer to starting up trials. When I’m not working I love walking my dog on the beach.
Sasha Reyes
Funding Neuro welcomes our new summer intern Sasha who joined the team on 5th July. Sasha is about to start her final year studying Pharmacy at University of Strathclyde and is particularly interested in neurology and making real differences to people’s lives. She will be working with our Administrative/Fundraising Team for the next 10 weeks “I am very excited to be part of Funding Neuro and what opportunities and experiences it will bring me!”

Bryn Williams
Chair
Bryn is the founder of Funding Neuro. He established the charity in order to fund research that will accelerate the cures for neurological medicine. Bryn brings his passion, energy and expertise to the charity and is determined to ensure it achieves its aims. From Northern Ireland, Bryn is a European Patent Attorney and a Chartered Mechanical Engineer. Bryn qualified as a Patent Attorney at Marks and Clerk, and spent 10 years at the company before setting up his own Patent Attorney firm, Creation IP. Since its inception, Creation IP has grown to four patent attorneys and has recently seen an expansion into the North American markets.
Matt Howick
Matt has been actively involved in the development of Funding Neuro and charitable activities from the start and before, where it all started as the Wobbly Williams campaign. He’s embraced the journey with immense enthusiasm and is looking forward to the challenges and successes ahead.
Matt is a Director and Co-Founder of The Social Marketing Gateway, a leading UK behaviour change consultancy. Prior to this he spent over 20 years working in senior marketing roles within a range of private and public sector organisations including central government. He is a Fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Marketing and The Institute of Direct marketing and a Marketing Society Business Leader. Matt is also a member of the Charlton Athletic Community Trust Health Improvement Advisory Board.


Gregor McMeechan
Gregor owns an award winning mortgage and insurance business. His team of independent brokers help clients to get the best deal and to look after their families.
When out of the office, Gregor loves being in the mountains on his bike or skis, or walking with his spaniel. He also follows Edinburgh Rugby and the Scotland team.
One of his best friends has MND and Gregor wanted to help so when the opportunity to get involved with Funding Neuro arose he jumped at the chance. He uses his business experience and contacts to support Funding Neuro.
Theresa Bruce
Theresa has over 25 years of experience in clinical research where she has lead teams responsible for all aspects of clinical planning and delivery across oncology, haematology, and endocrinology therapeutic areas. She has held executive positions in both clinical research organisations and biotechnology companies, including VP Clinical Operations at Chiltern and VP Oncology at Veristat. Senior VP, Clinical Operations NuCana. Theresa also worked as an independent consultant to US biotech companies where she was responsible for expanding clinical trial portfolios outside of North America. Theresa originally trained as a nurse and received an MBA from Glasgow Caledonian University where she focused in Executive Leadership and Strategic Management.
