It was a wobbly, wonky, crazy and truly spectacular day with the celebrities from television’s much loved soap Emmerdale! People joined us on Royal Deeside as we entered the magical world at Storybook Glen and took over the story-line with everything from It’s a Wobbly Knockout to The World Haggis Hurling Championships and The Jellympics. Child or child at heart, there was something for everyone at this largest event of its kind in Scotland.
We are waiting on financial details and photos to give you a true picture of what went on and how much was raised, however a wee selection of photos of It’s A Wobbly Knockout and the Wobbly Banquet can be found here in the meantime.
Everyone here at Funding Neuro would like to thank the many volunteers who took the time to help out over what was a long weekend of hard work! Our team who traveled up from Glasgow were outstanding, as were the fantastic Event Management students (Leanne, Kayleigh, Rebecca, Kayleigh and Jack) from Aberdeen College who worked very hard at the banquet on the Saturday night as well as having organised a raffle for the Friday evening.
We also could not have even had the event without the fabulous George and Jenny from George Walker Events!
Grateful thanks goes to Grant’s Foods for kindly donating the haggis for the World Haggis Hurling Championships, and Hartley’s for their contribution of individual jelly pots for our now infamous Jellympics! Donations are priceless for us. As a small outfit trying to achieve great big things, we cannot thank companies and individuals enough when they either donate time or goods to the cause – it allows us to maximise the money we raise to advance the research we fund.
To the many sponsor and supporters who participated in the event and supporting the many fundraising activities – thank you! We could not have done it without the support of so many generous companies and individuals, and we are now very much looking forward to our next Aberdeenshire adventure!
